Alexa, play "Christmas Time is Here" by the Vince Guaraldi Trio...
Okay. I'm about to share something intimate with you all. I mean, I'm about to do something that I've long feared doing. In honor of the holiday season, I want to give a large group of folks access to one of my scripts. Large group of folks=you!
Why have I been afraid to do this? One, because of fear of criticism. Two, due to fear of somebody yankin' my work and running off to Hollywood with it. But you know what? I trust you guys.
(And the original script is copyrighted)
(I'll also be deleting this post and the file link at some point)
(And I've screenshotted this post with the time and date in the corner)
(Yes, I believe it's "even that good")
For a limited time, you will have access to my short Christmas-themed screenplay, A White Christmas in Richmond. At the bottom of this post is a link to a folder containing one of the original drafts, and the most recent revision. The original was submitted to the Fresh Voices Screenwriting Competition--and though not a winner, it was well received by its reader.
A White Christmas in Richmond tells the story of a teenage girl and her family's first Christmas without a family member they've lost to the Second World War.
When I completed the first draft in August 2017, it'd been about five months since I'd suddenly lost a cousin, and about four months since I'd unexpectedly lost my grandpa. The holiday/Christmas season is my favorite time of year--so writing a Christmas story was my way of finding joy during that time.
I hope you'll enjoy reading A White Christmas in Richmond--and here's to it one day becoming a Kindaris Pictures production!
