Yet another "new year" is upon us. An opportunity to start fresh. I don't like doing the countdown to midnight but I do like getting up on January 1st to evaluate past and previous goals. Around this time last year, I'd made a promise to myself that I would write more scripts. I only completed one script. But I did register a film company. And tomorrow, I shall present to you the first product of this company, titled Twenty-Eighteen.

I must admit--I did not outline or write a script for this nearly two-minute movie. Hours before shooting it, I'd had a two-hour talk with my spiritual advisor. It was a very revealing talk. "Revealing" isn't even an sufficient enough word. I can't give all the details of our conversation, but a point she'd long been driving into my hard head finally hit the rest of my body--I am the only person in my way.

Later that night, I sat in the dark of my room. The only light was a red glow from the electric Christmas candles I put in my window every year. It's a beautiful sight--all of that Christmas red from corner to corner of my room.

If one were to take a moment to sit still in that light, like good medicine, the body will start to accept the passion that the color red tries to feed us.

I prayed in that light. I meditated. I spoke with my God and Goddesses. Before I knew it, I was setting up my camera and shooting a little movie.

For 2018 and in 2018, I encourage all to take some time to listen to yourself and to The Divine. Whoever He/She/They may be for you. Really listen. Greet silence like a long-lost friend. It'll be worth it.

I wish you all a wonderful New Year.
